about

Around 2005 I began collaborating with my friend and producer Fausto Belardinelli on a project that immediately took the name Electric Vintage and was characterized by the wonderful logo created ad hoc by Andrea Rosada.

Over the years we have rerecorded our songs about 5,000 times, probably far exceeding the time spent by the Beatles to record Sgt. Pepper's. The idea was to put my and Fausto's complementary skills at the service of a sophisticated yet simple lounge music.

I have always been a lover of thrillers and I am an ardent fan of James Hadley Chase, one of the most important writers of the hard-boiled European novel. I liked the idea of musically describing the themes of his 1941 novel (Italian title) "Piombo e Tritolo", English title "Twelve Chinks and a Woman" or "The Doll's Bad News". The songs are an ideal soundtrack of an ideal film. They see Dave Fenner, already the star of “No Orchids for Mrs. Blandish”, as a private detective; Gloria Leadler as a curvy, unscrupulous woman; Nightingale the undertaker in love, hopelessly, with the curvy girl; Carlos the bad guy; and Key West is where all the action takes place.

After about fifteen years (just the time to make the original material become vintage!) we are ready to release our first record! Have fun!

Buon ascolto e buon divertimento.
